Chiclayo is the fourth-largest city in Perú with a population of over 700,000. Located in the Lambayeque region, it is one of the financial and commercial capitals of Northern Perú, along with neighboring cities Piura and Trujillo. With a dry, sunny climate, it’s just an hour away from the beach.
“A big majority of my extended family on my dads side lives in Chiclayo so that’s what brings me to this city. I grew up visiting everyone since I was young and have some of my best memories dancing, eating, and traveling with them. I have so many aunts, uncles, and cousins whom I share these memories with and every time I visit, I’m always embraced as if no time has passed. I’m grateful my parents took me to Chiclayo when they did.”
