“FROM MY MOTHERS HANDS”

we all know there's nothing like a home cooked meal and food is one of the many ways we can connect with those who came before us. in this series, i pay homage to the culturally specific food i grew up with, as well as the cultural foods of loved ones in my personal circle. i dedicate this project to all the amazing mothers who feed us and nurture us. every meal pictured was made by a mother, and this wouldn't have been possible without them.

thank you to my friend Mousa and his mother, Mrs. Zaydon, for the beautiful Palestinian spread. thank you to my friend Anastasia for preparing different dishes representing her children's roots - Mexico, Laos, & the Philippines. lastly, thank you to my mama, Mabel, for helping me represent our Peruvian roots.

we are nothing without those who came before us & the mothers of this world are the biggest connections we have to the physical and spiritual. they are our teachers and guides. thank you to all the mothers doing what they can for their loved ones.
